ABOUT THE ARTIST
Creativity leads to innovation and that is what Precursor is striving for. Connecting elements from Electronica and Techno, Dutch producer and composer Quirijn Verhoog delivers music that leans on the verge of two sonic universes. With a musical background dating back over 20 years and working in laboratories and academia for many years, Verhoog has a unique take on music.
His attention to detail is immaculate, treating synthesizers the same way as his lab equipment. Using modular synthesis and effect pedals he builds up complex, yet eclectic tracks.
In 2022, Precursor released his second full length studio album “GLIA” on music label Arvet Records from Swedish singer and producer Sailor & I. This album, signified by the international success of the single “Human” has been played all across the planet. Subsequent works have been remixed by and supported by the industry’s finest.
This year Verhoog is working on his next album of which the first single “Reset“ was released in 2023 already. Meanwhile, Verhoog has released singles on several labels including Just This (by Hunter/Game), OPIA (by Olafur Arnalds) and Fashionpolice, as well as composing for a Feyenoord film “Gimenez“.
What can you expect?
An inquisitive group that is intrigued about everything music production, curious to learn the artist’s story and their approach to making music within a DAW. Of course, we also aim to attract interested parties within the music industry, which will give you a unique opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and network. Track feedback sessıon
Track feedback is an essential part of our
Masterclass events we aim to provide at every edition. This gimmick is a 30-40 minute session after the masterclass, where students play their tracks to the masterclass artist and get feedback. This allows for intrigued and curious attendees to get personal advice on their craft from a professional.
